Wierd dream….has me wondering – are we as ready as we should be?

hmmm, to post or not to post? oh, well, I’m posting.

Last night I had a dream that really has me wondering…In my dream, my friend owned something like a zoo. It really wasn’t for the public, but there were many animals in cages. Anyways she had asked me for a favor, to do some billing and paperwork for her, so I went into the office there among the cages of all types of animals and began to work.

I had finished my work and as I walked out I looked at the Lion in his cage. I noticed he had ripped out a huge hole in the wire fence, big enough to jump through and escape.  I was scared for the people and gasping for air- like I wanted to scream out the warning, but there was no one to listen. I didn’t have my phone so I quickly ran home as fast as I could to call the owner, to let her know about this.

As I got home a huge parade was coming down the street. Everyone was there ready to party. The streets were packed with all people from everywhere, there was noise, music, and dancing – a huge party along the streets. I saw my Uncle in the crowd and screamed out “ Uncle Charlie! I need your phone, it’s an emergency” he handed me his phone as he rambled on about all his emergencies and how my nephew had a broken leg and the other had a broken ankle and he rambled on an on as I dialed my friend:

“Diana! The Lion has ripped a hole in the fence, big enough to jump out of!!!!”
Oh, she said in calmness
Diana! He can get out!
Silence. (she was calm and not worried at all)
Diana, he’s going to get out!“
Oh, don’t worry, he’s done this before, we’re fine”

Suddenly, the parade had passed and evening was approaching. A great wedding was coming up and the beginning celebrations were to start in a few weeks, but suddenly as if supernaturally the days disappeared before our eyes, it was the night of the beginning of the celebration- even though we thought we had weeks to prepare . What? We all looked at each other in amazement. We had just looked at the calendar and it wasn’t for a few weeks—-and now it was tonight. We were all having a fit because we weren’t ready.  The plans we had for the night – because we were now fast forward ahead, had been disturbed. We now had 3 places to go- the church to do the stations of the cross, the wedding party, and one other thing- but we had to pick one.

I don’t know if this a mix of my days thoughts or has meaning. I had the same sense or urgency in another dream last week- there was a great tiger loose among the people and I was trying to hold the people back. I could barely breathe, as I was in fear for the people. I knew the tiger couldn’t touch me or hurt me, but there was no protection for other people. They thought he was harmless and gave it no thought, but I could feel the people pushing me forward as they tried to get through. I was trying to hold everyone back, but they kept ignoring the warning and my back was pushed and pushed forward closer and closer to the animal.

What can I say? I wonder if I myself am ready.  It would be good for all of us to stay ready. Stay in prayer for all believers everywhere and do not let your guard down. Always be ready to help those in need.

 In living He loved me
In dying he saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
in rising he justified freely forever
one day he’s coming
O Glorious day

O Glorious day

Philippians 4
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord…. Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!  Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon….   Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus….
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
… I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.  I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.  For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever!  May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
