“Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.” Galations 1

Those who have ears….listen

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.  I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed (Gal1:6-10)

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.1j4;1

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News  but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.  I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.   Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

I am surprised and astonished that you are so quickly turning renegade and deserting Him Who invited and called you by the grace of Christ and that you are transferring your allegiance to a different [even an opposition] gospel.  Not that there is or could be any other genuine Gospel, but there are some who are troubling and disturbing and bewildering you with a different kind of teaching which they offer as a gospel and want to pervert and distort the Gospel of Christ into something which it absolutely is not. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel different from or contrary to that which you received [from us], let him be accursed  Now am I trying to win the favor of men, or of God? Do I seek to please men? If I were still seeking popularity with men, I should not be a bond servant of Christ (AMPLIFIED)

DO NOT HAPPILY PUT UP WITH WHATEVER ANYONE TELLS YOU-EVEN IF THEY PREACH A DIFFERENT JESUS ….

You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

I hope you will put up with a little more of my foolishness. Please bear with me. For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband—Christ. But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.  You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. 2 Corinthians 11:4-

DON’T ALLOW OTHER TEACHINGS TO CONFUSE YOU

This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough!  I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you. Gal 5:9-10

WATCH OUT THAT YOU DO NOT LOSE WHAT HAS BEEN WORKED FOR…..

I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.  Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. 2 john 1:7-11

THERE ARE FALSE TEACHERS AMONG US

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you ( In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money): whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.2 peter 2:1-3

DO NOT ADD OR SUBTRACT ANYTHING FROM HIS COMMANDS

And now, Israel, listen carefully to these decrees and regulations that I am about to teach you. Obey them so that you may live, so you may enter and occupy the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.  Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.“So be careful to obey all the commands I give you. You must not add anything to them or subtract anything from them. Deut 4:1-2,12:32

AGAIN WE ARE TOLD- DO NOT TOLERATE FALSE TEACHING

“I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city.  “But I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you whose teaching is like that of Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to sin by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin.  In a similar way, you have some Nicolaitans among you who follow the same teaching.  Repent of your sin, or I will come to you suddenly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. Rev 2:13-17

LOOK! HE IS COMING SOON

Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm; let the one who is vile continue to be vile; let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously; let the one who is holy continue to be holy.”

“Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”  Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.  Outside the city are the dogs—the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”

BE CAREFUL WITH THE TEACHINGS YOU HEAR AND TEST THEM WITH SCRIPTURE

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.  And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.  And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people
If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love to all of you in Christ Jesus 1 cor 16:22-24, Rev 22,1john 4

REMEMBER YOUR FIRST LOVE

26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. 28 For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us. 30 For we know the one who said,

“I will take revenge. I will pay them back.” He also said, “The Lord will judge his own people.”

31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.  Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.[j] Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. 33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. 34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

37 “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”  But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. Heb 10:24-29

1 John 4

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people
If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

CALM DOWN!!!! Psalm 131 calm down! calm down!

Lord, my heart is not haughty,
Nor my eyes lofty.
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Nor with things too profound for me.
Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I stop to pray- even if my surroundings are quiet and calm, my mind is going a million miles per hour. I just can’t seem to quiet my mind down enough to pray-  or even to quiet my mind in order for Him to speak to me. It’s like my mind is a wild race horse running away from it’s owner-“Hey! Get back here, I need you!”

In the quietness of my house I knelt down quietly, bowed my head- and off I went…..

“Dear Lord,
blah blah blah blah- what do I do about this, and what about that, agh! do I have to look at my sins? can I just pray? uh,my dog barking, great there’s my phone ringing …. O Jesus my heart and mind are running mad, I wish I was on a Billy Graham retreat …  I have a million things to discuss talk about, ask, and an innumerable amount of prayer requests for others, is there room for me and oh my kids, and my family and I have to do my dishes and go to work and do you know what someone said to me and when can I go to the gym, oh yes, my husband, and talk talk talk talk oh yes and thank you thank you give me wisdom and Lord I’m all confused and my mind is going to fast for me to prrrraaaaaaaaay,Oh Jesus, help me calm down so I can pray.”

I sat in silence-a bit sad that I was too hyper in my mind to feel like I could talk to the Lord.

Again I asked “ Lord help me calm down so I can pray

Kind of disturbed with myself, I got up, sat on the couch and opened up my bible to wherever. I opened up to Psalm 131— and read

“ I have calmed and  quieted myself”

Lord, my heart is not proud;
my eyes are not haughty.
I don’t concern myself with matters too great
or too awesome for me to grasp.
Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself,
like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk.
Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord—  now and always

Wow, that’s weird……I just prayed for that. I began to read, reread, ponder and meditate until I had the entire verse memorized.  After hours of studying this scripture, something supernatural happened. It was amazing.  How can I explain it?????  I felt as if I was underwater swimming – in a beautiful place- quietness surrounded me and my soul was calm. My mind was refreshed and silenced as I looked in awe and wonder of God’s great creation.  Quiet… beautiful..
To prepare my mind and heart for prayer, I always stop to meditate on this verse.

Walk with me through the scripture……….

Psalm 131
Lord my heart is not Proud,

I don’t consider myself above others, this only leads to restlessness. I don’t hunger for adoration or attention. I consider Moses, the most humble man on the earth. I put others first. This humbleness and contentment allows God’s leading in our life. I don’t need to prove myself to others, but the Lord is my security.
I keep far from pride and check my heart for any hidden pride that may have snuck in. Uh ooo- everytime I meditate on this, it’s as if the Lord opens my eyes to hidden sins I didn’t see- maybe unforgiveness that snuck in, the way I treated someone, not putting Him first, or wrong motives.  Father keep me humble and non judgemental. Teach me to live like Jesus, seeing others greater than I and being a servant to others. Let me not seek fame, wealth or anything this world has to offer, but give my life and heart and mind to the Lord.

My eyes are not haughty

My eyes do not condemn others. I don’t think I’m better than other people. I put others first and consider them. Have I been selfish? Have I looked down on someone else because of the way they look or dress? Lord, forgive me for my pride and help me live with a humble heart.  Put others first – this is the way to lead others to Christ. Teach me to die to myself and let Christ reign in my life.

I don’t consider myself with things to great for me to grasp. Neither do I concern myself with great matters,Nor with things too profound for me.
I put my life in the Lord’s hands and trust Him. I bring my thoughts, anxieties and my unanswered questions captive to Jesus. I don’t worry about matters that surround me, for I know the Lord takes care of me. I remember Isaiah 51:12 that reminds me not to worry about the words of defeat and despair around me, but to put all my trust in my heavenly Father.
Sure, I want all the answers….but patience is key as well as bringing thoughts to Christ.
Don’t sit and worry- why? how? what if? what’s going to happen? what will they think of me? Don’t worry and don’t be concerned with these things. Think only of things that are true, God honoring, worthy of Praise, trustworthy,  holy, thankfulness, noble and virtuous (Phil 4:8) bringing all things up to Him in prayer.

I have calmed and quieted myself
Ahhhhhh – that feels good to be calm and worry free. God has calmed my heart. It is like diving into a beautiful ocean deep within the sea. There is quietness and calmness around me. My heart is calm and quiet as I am surrounded by His Glory and beauty. In Wonderous awe, I am silenced as I see the beauty that surrounds me. There I am, surrounded by His awesome works and His mighty Power.
Be calm and quiet- Fix your thoughts

Like a weaned child with his mother

My complete trust and faith in Him grows more and more each day. I know He takes care of me and will always supply all my needs. I don’t need to throw myself on the ground, kicking and screaming about what may happen tomorrow. I know the Lord will supply and surround me with all the grace I need for each day.
Like a child who fully trusts in his parents- who doesn’t need to worry about tomorrow- so is my soul within me.

Like a weaned child is my soul within me

Just in case it didn’t sink in the first time,  the bible repeats this for confirmation. As a content child, so is my soul- fully trusting, content, and calm. I am like a child who has everything he wants or needs. My heart is calm and content. I have everything I need in Christ Jesus. I am happy, content and quiet- and so is my soul.  The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He leads me, He guides me, He restores me and prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever

O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever.
Dear Child of God, you can put your trust in Him. O Lord, I put all my hope in you, now and forever.

( I’ve been tested on calmness the entire time I’ve been writing this post. My teenager decided now would be the perfect time to have a meltdown about sport tryouts, my dog hasn’t stopped barking, I got locked in the office as I was writing because the doorknobs fell off then my entire computer shut down and everything disappeared- then my side dish I made for dinner has mysteriously disappeared and now I have to cook again. hmmmm)

We wont hear the Lord’s voice if we are so busy, anxious, worried, hurried and stressed. The Lord is always speaking to us. I always hear- as if it is a light rain always falling “I love you, I love you, I love you” he showers down upon us throughout the day.

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen Romans 16:20

Don’t Judge Others Romans 2 , Matthew 7

Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?
Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?
Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
 Those who refuse to gossip
    or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends Ps 15:1-4

In judging others we condemn ourselves.  If we don’t stay constantly in the Word it’s easy to fall into sin. Being a Christian does not give us a pass to judge others- however there is a scripture that says you can judge one in your church assembly to correct an issue ( 1 Corinthians 5 ) . It’s a thin line, but I think it would be best to stay away from

1-      Gossip- Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people (Lev 19:16)
2-      Slander- Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool (Prov 10;18)
3-      Pride and haughtiness-I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride (Ps 101:5)
4-      Wrong thoughts of others
5-       Complaining about others-Do everything without complaining and arguing (phil 2:14)

Proverbs 10:19 Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.

Sometimes I’ve found myself doing just that- talking about others- who don’t do things I agree with. The Holy Spirit immediately convicts me and reminds me I need to work on the log in my own eye first.

The other day I was on the phone discussing someone else’s parenting.  I suddenly remembered that in my hurried rush that morning I had done the exact thing I was condemning someone else for…. I heard this in my heart:

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.
Proverbs 18:8

This dainty morsel may bring you in to new hierarchies in the church as we join other gossipers who  quickly judge those in our churches – our leaders, our pastors and their families.   How can we call ourselves Christians when we sit in dark corners hating those leading us in the church? Instead of gossiping about your pastor and his wife, pray for them. They are the first in the line of fire for attack, they need your prayer- not your judging eyes. Let’s stop all this evil and remember God has no favorites- we are all precious in His eyes.  We are all part of one body- Christ being the head

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.  One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.  The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

God’s House is not our Club- It’s HIS HOUSE
(A house of Prayer)

Here’s another kicker-A few years ago I met a new friend, but my “church friends” didn’t like her.  She was new to church and didn’t really talk or live the way we did, but I liked her. I invited her to a church service one night but my church friends were not happy about this. They told me she didn’t belong, if she wanted to go, she should go by herself and if I showed up with her, they didn’t want to sit with me.  Hmmmmm, I thought- do I need this drama? Should I ‘forget” I invited her and have a good time with my friends or should I call her and tell her I’m picking her up. As I sat in my car contemplating what I was about to do I heard a voice speak loudly into my heart “ My house is not your club” Agh! I didn’t need to think about that anymore. I called her and picked her up- the night was a blessing to her, her family and others.  When my friends saw I had brought her along, they said “why did you bring her?” and I answered “ The Lord told me that His house is not my club” We were all silenced, and one replied “Well that would have done it for me too” So a great lesson for us all! His house is not our clubhouse!

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

As I sit here and post I’m really upset with someone I know and I want to gossip and tell everyone what I think, giving no consideration to the person.  I’m quite perturbed but instead of judging this person I have decided to bring my thoughts captive to Christ. I know I am not to seek revenge, to slander, to judge, so I bring it to Christ. Sure I could confront the person in a loving way- but I’m sure most of you, as I have, have attempted this with those we know and our words go unheard. So up to the Lord I bring my thoughts. Like Joyce Meyers said “Go to the throne, not the phone”.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.  “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. ] “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven Matt 7 Luke 6:37

Another lesson  the Lord taught me with this verse is that when we judge others, we allow judgement on ourselves. I used to think that was fine- I’d get it all in one big lashing on judgement day but in reality- as soon as we judge others – we are immediately judged. We reap what we sow- and this sin in particular sprouts overnight- like a stubborn weed or one of those weird mushrooms that shows up overnight.

His Kindness Leads Us To Repentance

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.  Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.  So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?  Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Did you notice what God’s kindness is intended to do? It is to lead us to repentance.  Being a Christian doesn’t make us sinless, in fact, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. Oooooo how many Christians think that title makes them perfect- or exempt from repenting? (I think that is a lie the devil whispers in our ear)  We must ask the Lord to search our heart for any sin lurking in there, we must repent and change.  I haven’t heard repentance preached in a while have you? It’s not a popular subject today. No one is exempt from repentance. So we who judge the speck in our neighbors eye, need to stop and focus on the log in our own eye.

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.  1 Cor 4;5

Search me, God, and know my heart;  test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,  and lead me in the way everlasting Ps 139:23-24

Psalm 101:5 I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride
Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior
Proverbs 25:10 Others may accuse you of gossip, and you will never regain your good reputation
Proverbs 26:20 Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops

OUR JUDGING OTHERS SHOWS US THAT WE NEED TO WORK ON OUR OWN HARD, STUBBORN, CALLOUSED AND UNREPENTANT HEARTS. JUDGING OTHERS STORES UP WRATH AND TERRIBLE PUNISHMENT WITHIN OUR HEART.
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath , when his righteous judgment will be revealed.  God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.

FOR GOD DOES NOT SHOW FAVORITISM
YOU ARE PRECIOUS TO HIM
(and so is that person you are complaining about)

Search me, God, and know my heart;  test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me,  and lead me in the way everlasting.

🙂 Hey- are people judging you wrongly?  no worries and no fret- For the Lord your God goes out before you and fights for you. No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,”declares the Lord. (this verse is a sword that goes before you-speak it over your life- for it is alive and powerful)

He will never leave you Nor forsake you. For God has said " I will not fail you I will never abandon you" heb 13:5 Peace my friends!

May the Lord’s Peace fill your hearts and minds- eagerly awaiting the Lord’s return.
