Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the Ancient Paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. Jeremiah 6:16
I love to meditate and think about Psalm 34. There are so many promises and words of encouragement and hope. It’s a faith builder!
1-He will deliver you from all your fears! God doesn’t want you to worry or fear . Jesus even told us that in the last days when terrible things are about to come to the earth, He said – but don’t be troubled!. If you are in dread or fear today, consider that there is a good chance they are unfounded and complete lies. Satan loves to fill people with fear through lies
2- The Lord watches over you and Hears all your prayers and all your cries
3-The Lord will save you from all your troubles.
4-His angels have been sent to encamp around you. It’s true!
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the Lordis good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lordare on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lordis against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lordis near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89
Revive me O God, According to your Word Strengthen me O God, According to your Word Establish your Word in Me O Lord, According to your Word Turn my eyes away from vanity and quicken me According to your Word Heal me from sickness According to your Word Deal with me According to your Word Let your Merciful Kindness be my comfort According to your Word Your precepts quicken me According to your Word Deliver me from discouragement According to your Word Deliver me from all my fears According to your Word Deliver me from death According to your Word Restore my life According to your Word Uphold me According to Your Word I cry and Hope According to your Word Hear my voice According to your Word Quicken me O Lord According to Your Word Deliver me O God According to Your Word Give me understanding According to Your Word Hear me O God and deliver me According to your Precious Word
In Jesus Name, Amen
“According to your Word” occurs 23x in Psalm 119. The Hebrew word “Debar” means Word, and other times it is translated as ; According to your truth, your ways, the glory of your name, your works, ways, manner , commands, sayings, acts, promise, your laws.
We also know that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us- that is Christ Jesus. Today we know the Word is Christ Jesus, we also know all God’s promises are Yes and Amen In Him. (2 Cor 1:20). All the Promises above are in Christ Jesus, a sure foundation and anchor for your soul.
The word “quicken me” is used 16 times in Psalm 119- “quicken me according to your word”
Quicken in Hebrew means : to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live for ever, be healed, be quickened, be alive, restore to life, to cause to grew, revive, to have life, from death, restored from discouragement, restore from faintness, to preserve, be restored to life or health.
Psalm 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction,Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So thatyour youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses,His acts to the children of Israel. The Lordis merciful and gracious,Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone ,And its place remembers it no more. But the mercy of the Lordis from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant,And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word,Heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Yes, today I will bless the Lord.Even though annoying things try to interfere, the words of rude people try to shake me, I will still bless the Lord. I feel like a memo went out to the world : “make her life difficult in every way” – that’s how the last two weeks have felt. How can I have so much interference everywhere I turn? Why isn’t everything going my way? Why are the simplistic things turning into long dragged out trials? Why am I dealing with so many problems? Whatever! I’m going to bless the Lord and refuse to be brought down.
I will bless the Lord, with all my soul and forget not His benefits. I will lift my head up and wait for my King. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases, He redeems my life from destruction and crowns me with loving kindness and tender mercies. How awesome is that?!? He makes all my problems disappear as I refocus. I will rejoice for this is the day that the Lord has made. He will strengthen me and renew my youth like the eagles. Amen, it just doesn’t get any better than that.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19 & 51
A few years ago, I was in a bible study and decided to pray the scriptures we were studying. I loved the prayers of David in Psalms and often I would pray them aloud or write the prayers in my journal. One prayer specifically I would pray often is “Lord, create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me”
Soon after I began praying this, something supernatural happened to me. I woke up one morning feeling like a brand new person. How can I explain it? I felt like I did when I was seven years old- completely free, without a burden in the world. I had new-found energy and joy. Do you remember the energy you had when you were 7? -to climb trees, run free, no worries, and all joy. I didn’t realize how much the world and pressures around me had weighed me down. I felt so different, but I didn’t understand what had just happened.
As I woke up with this new feeling, I prayed, “Lord, what is this? I feel like I did when I was 7 years old?” Within my heart I heard “You have a new spirit”. – not going to lie, that scared me! So I prayed back. “What?!?!?” and I heard “You prayed for this”. I didn’t remember praying for that, I didn’t really think I would get a new heart, I just thought they were great words and prayers from King David. I jumped out of bed and ran to my notebook and began flipping through the prayers I had written:
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me
Over and over again, I had prayed this verse. I had a new spirit within me! It was amazing! So many things have happened supernaturally, but I just can’t fully explain them- another one being the mighty rush of wind- that was terrifying and at that moment something happened too. God’s Word is powerful and alive, keep it close to your heart.
Last year, I had a dream after I prayed the Prayer of Transformation . In the dream, my heart and life were being cleaned out – as if I was being made new again. I believe this is what will happen to us at the Lord’s coming:
Early morning, I was waking up out of a very different dream. It seemed there had been an innumerable amount of time and hours spent searching through my entire life- an exhaustive study- you could say of me. Things were being taken out of my life- every bad thing I had ever done and said, along with every wrong or bad thing that had happened to me. All of this was being taken out of me and put in a canister that was being held by an angel. There was much- intense study- searching back to my early childhood. I stood there as my life was being cleaned out – as if they where going in my heart/spirit and cleaning everything out. As I was waking up, yet still in dream, the exhaustive study of me was almost over. I say exhaustive because not only did it seem to take a long time to do this, but also because they didn’t stop until every wrong, every hurt, every evil was gone. It was amazing to think that even as a small child, there were hurts that I didn’t even know were there. They were taking out all the times I had been hurt or hard times I had suffered- even back to my toddler and childhood days. It was amazing. I looked at the canister and it was almost full and I turned to see myself. I could see myself standing up with my arms out as my life was searched and cleaned out. I looked- and in amazement I had turned into this brilliant shining white light. My arms, my clothes where like a bright white shining light. I could see myself on a brilliant white step and there I was- a brilliant shining white light. I was changed and transformed. I wonder if this is what will happen when the Lord changes us when He returns again! It was amazing.
I really can’t explain all these great mysteries, I can only share what I have experienced and remind you that God’s word is ALIVE AND POWERFUL. It is your sword and your weapon- don’t let it get rusty hidden away in a corner, but open up the Word of God and see what the Lord has for you. Ask the Lord to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you, also remember always the importance of protecting your heart:
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. Proverbs 4:23-27
How is your heart?
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults Psalm 51:10Psalm 19:12
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh Ezekiel 11:19Ezekiel 18:31Ezekiel 36:26
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. Matthew 9:16Matthew 9:17Luke 5:38
Another time I prayed scripture to the Lord ,as I searched for answers, was when my first daughter died. I reminded Him every day of the parable of the annoying woman who came to the evil king, and even he granted her what she wanted, I told Him, surely you can do greater – and He answered me. I called out all the scripture I knew to Him and He answered me! I wrote that in Where to babies go when they die?
Create in me a new heart, O Lord, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, O Lord, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto to me, the joy of your salvation and your Holy Spirit to sustain me. O God, bring us back to your Holy Temple. Teach us how to be Holy and right before you. God bless Israel, may your loving-kindness protect them and keep them safe.
In Christ Jesus, Amen
