Is Jesus a prophet or the Son of God?

Who did Jesus say He was?

This answer may be obvious to some of us, but the fast growing Islamic faith is converting many Christians with deceiving words. Muslims believe, according to the Quran, that Jesus was the son of Mary and a great prophet, but the Quran specifically says He was not God’s son and that he was never crucified. In fact, the Quran quotes Jesus as saying, he wouldn’t think of such a thing. So you have to wonder………If the Islamic faith believes that Jesus is only a prophet, born of Mary, then what things did Jesus say that made Him a prophet in their eyes? Let’s go over the Scripture to prove the Quran to be false, for we are told from the words spoken from Jesus:

  1.  Jesus is the Son of God  ( the Quran said that Allah has no son)
  2. Jesus has been given all authority over heaven and earth (Quran says that all authority on heaven and earth belong to Allah)
  3. Jesus is the messiah the people of Israel were waiting for, (Quran teaches that this was a deceiving way to destroy Christians)
  4. Jesus has the power to forgive (Allah says only he has the authority to forgive)
  5. Jesus is the only way to salvation (Allah says Islam is the only way to heaven)
  6. Jesus DID die for 3 days and rose on the third day– as Jonah was in the whale (Quran denies this)
  7. Jesus Sits on the right hand of the Lord God (Allah says this is not true)
  8. Jesus sits on a glorious throne
  9. Jesus was crucified as the ancient prophets told us (Quran teaches that this a lie Christians believe)
  10. Jesus was with God in the beginning– before creation (Allah said he made everything)
  11. Jesus is the Word and the Word was with God in the beginning
  12. Only those who believe in Him are saved – Jesus is the only way
  13. He DID rise up again on  the third day

HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD: DOES GOD HAVE A SON?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18

“ A SON SHALL BE GIVEN TO US”
Isaiah: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever (Isaiah 9:6-7)

David: The Lord said :You are My Son, today I have begotten you…the nations for Your inheritance, the ends of the earth for Your possession…Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish (Psalm 2:4-12)

King Solomon: Who has established the ends of the earth? And What is His Name, the Name of His Son? (Proverbs 30:4)New Testament proof: Matthew 27:54, 1 John 5:13, Rev 2:18, John 3:19, John 1:1-3

HIS NAME IS IMMANUEL; “THE LORD WITH US”; BORN OF A VIRGIN
Isaiah: “ Hear now, O House of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign, Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14)
New testamant fulfilment Matthew 1:23

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”7 I will proclaim the LORD’s decree:He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father.8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.9 You will break them with a rod of iron;you will dash them to pieces like pottery psalm 2:4-12

Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son?Proverbs 30:4

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel, which means God with us. Isaiah 7:14

50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[e] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.6 This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:1-13

These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. Revelation 2:18
Revelation 3:7 ‘.. of Him who is holy and true, Who holds the Key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.”
Jesus is the Son of God: “But what about you?” Jesus said to them. “Who do you say that I am?” – Simon Peter answered, “You? You are Christ, the Son of the living God!” – “Simon, son of Jonah, you are a fortunate man indeed!” said Jesus, “for it was not your own nature but my Heavenly Father who has revealed this truth to you! Now I tell you that you are Peter the rock, and it is on this rock that I am going to found my Church, and the powers of death will never prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven; whatever you forbid on earth will be what is forbidden in Heaven and whatever you permit on earth will be what is permitted in Heaven!” Then he impressed on his disciples that they should not tell anyone that he was Christ. Matthew 16:15-20

Jesus is the Son of God: Then when daylight came, the assembly of the elders of the people, which included both chief priests and scribes, met and marched him off to their own council. There they asked him, “If you really are Christ, tell us!” “If I tell you, you will never believe me, and if I ask you a question, you will not answer me. But from now on the Son of Man will take his seat at the right hand of almighty God.” Then they all said, “So you are the Son of God then?””You are right; I am,” Jesus told them luke 22:66-70

Jesus came down from Heaven: No one has ever been up to Heaven except the Son of Man who came down from Heaven. The Son of Man must be lifted above the heads of men – as Moses lifted up that serpent in the desert – so that any man who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that every one who believes in him shall not be lost, but should have eternal life. You must understand that God has not sent his Son into the world to pass sentence upon it, but to save it – through him. John 3:16

God sent His son Jesus: The man who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him. I solemnly assure you that the man who hears what I have to say and believes in the one who has sent me has eternal life. He does not have to face judgment; he has already passed from death into life. Yes, I assure you that a time is coming, in fact has already come, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and when they have heard it they will live! For just as the Father has life in himself, so by the Father’s gift, the Son also has life in himself.

HE IS A HIGH PRIEST FOREVER IN THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK
David: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: “YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER, IN THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK” (Psalm 110:4) Proof: Hebrews 5:6,6:20,7:15 “You are priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek”

HE IS A RULER FROM BETHLEHEM TO SHEPHERD ‘MY PEOPLE ISRAEL’
Micah: “But you, Bethlehem Epherathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from old, from everlasting.” Proof: Matthew 2:6, Luke 2:15

HE TOOK OUR PLACE OF PUNISHMENT: HE WAS PIERCED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS Zechariah: “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn .Zechariah 12:10

Isaiah: “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.(Isaiah 53) Proof: 1 Cor1:18, 1 peter 2:24, mark 15:24, Hebrews 6:6, Eph 2:16, Gal 3:13, Rev 1:7, John 19:33-37

John 1:29“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world

Jesus Sits at God’s right hand : Then the High Priest said to him, “I command you by the living God, to tell us on your oath if you are Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus said to him, “I am. Yes, and I tell you that in the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of Heaven.” Matthew 26:62-65

Jesus is God’s Son: At that moment Jesus himself was inspired with joy, and exclaimed, “O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, I thank you for hiding these things from the clever and the intelligent and for showing them to mere children! Yes, I thank you, Father, that this was your will.” Then he went on, “Everything has been put in my hands by my Father; and nobody knows who the Son really is except the Father. Nobody knows who the Father really is except the Son – and the man to whom the Son chooses to reveal him!”Luke 10:21-22

Jesus is the resurrection, He is the Only way: “I myself am the resurrection and the life,” Jesus told her. “The man who believes in me will live even though he dies, and anyone who is alive and believes in me will never die at all. Can you believe that?” Matt 11 25-26

All Power in Heaven and earth belongs to Jesus : But Jesus came and spoke these words to them, “All power in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. You, then, are to go and make disciples of all the nations and baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you and, remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” 28:18-20 –

I tell you in solemn truth,” returned Jesus, “before there was an Abraham, I AM!” John 8:58

“I myself am the road,” replied Jesus, “and the truth and the life. No one approaches the Father except through me. If you had known who I am, you would have known my Father. From now on, you do know him and you have seen him.” John 14:4-7

The quran seems to be a book on how to argue a case against Christians and Jews. No where in the bible does God show us how to argue, debate and manipulate His will against other false gods and religions- so why does the Quran spend so much time telling Muslims how to answer us? In the Quran, Allah, for some reason needs to explain away specific beliefs and give them answers and hypothetical questions and debates and how to win every argument when speaking to Jews and Christians.

In the bible, God tells us what lies ahead. He told Abraham that he would be a great nation, that from Judah- a great eternal King would come. Prophecies foretold of a Messiah who would be born in Bethlehem, called a Nazarene, born of a virgin, would suffer and die and would save His people from their sins. What are the chances of ONE MAN(Jesus) fulfilling all these prophecies? 1 in 17,000,000,000,000.  Scripture continues to tell us of the last days in detailed description – of what lies ahead for us written by many old testament prophets –Isaiah, Joel, etc. as well as New Testament scripture including the book of Revelation. Notice that all through scripture, the Lord has always told us what lies ahead from His prophets. He told Abraham he would be a great nation, promise of a Messiah spoken over Judah, prophecies through Asaph, through David, Isaiah, Zechariah and all the prophets- they spoke of the Messiah who was coming. God also warned us of the days ahead as well as what it would be like in the last days. No where in scripture are we told that another new contract with a mew message from an angel would be in effect – the quran is a book of false messages from a false angel teaching its followers to debate against every hypothetical word spoken from a Jewish person or a Christian.

Islam teaches (every public school student in America) that the Quran is the updated version of the old and new testament and Mohammed was the next prophet – but whoa! Hey! That’s not in the scriptures- no! God has told us everything by His prophets for the last 6000 years – never once was there mentioned a complete change around – even to the point of telling Christians that Allah and Jesus only came to deceive Christians. Did you get that? Muslims believe Allah and Jesus intentionally deceived Christians so they would burn in hell- or turned into “swine and monkeys”.

The Quran is a book of confusion, aka Babylon- a lot of words causing a lot of confusion. It throws out names like “Moses, Jesus, Abraham” and acts holy, but every word goes against the true scripture- the Word of God.  At least 70% of what I read while researching the Quran was hypothetical conversations and how to reply to “people of the book” aka, Christians and Jews. If they say this, you say that – – that’s their holy book. Oh, and fyi- they believe Allah sent Jesus to deceive all Christians, and that he was never crucified or resurrected. So here we have a god who deceived, and a deceiver is a liar and where do all lies come from? All lies come from satan.

Does God deceive? ”  Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them. And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little. S. 4:142 Hilali-Khan And when We make people taste of mercy after an affliction touches them, lo! they devise schemes (makrun) against Our communication. Say: Allah is quicker to scheme (makran); surely Our apostles write down what you plan. S. 10:21 And those before them did indeed scheme (makara), but all scheming (al-makru) is Allah’s; He knows what every soul earns, and the unbelievers shall come to know for whom is the (better) issue of the abode. S. 13:42

The Quran says that Allah says that all people of the book are burned in hell and turned into monkeys and apes, but when you confront a Muslim about this, they say it out of context.. looks pretty clear to me.

Allah, through the quran, also has said every Jew and Christian will be wiped out of Israel- Is that really the same God? God said He has loved them with an everlasting love.

You should not only know the truth, but teach them to the next generation, your children, your nephews, nieces, and all your family. Every child in America studies Islamic faith beginning in middle school. The words are deceiving. Millions of students are learning the 5 pillars of Islam, being taught it is a holy religion, they are taught it is the new updated version of the scripture, and they are taught that Allah is God of all religions- and that Jesus was an honored prophet, but Christians are deceived because He was not the Son of God.

Don’t believe it’s a book of debate against the true people of God? Check it out yourself:

  • Say: “O People of the Book (Christians and Jews) ! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.” If then they turn back, say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will).  Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding?  Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah’s (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah. Surah: 3 :64-65,67
  •  The Jews say: “Allah’s hand is tied up.” Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth (of His bounty) as He pleaseth. But the revelation that cometh to thee from Allah increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Amongst them we have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief If only the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We should indeed have blotted out their iniquities and admitted them to gardens of bliss. Surah: 5:64-65
  •  And they say: “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” Those are their (vain) desires. Say: “Produce your proof if ye are truthful.” Chapter 2 111
  • The Jews say: “The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: “The Jews have naught (To stand) upon.” Yet they (Profess to) study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but Allah will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment. Chapter 2 113
  • They say: “Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation).” Say thou: “Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah.” Chapter 2 135
  • Or do ye say that Abraham, Ismail Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do ye know better than Allah? Ah! who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from Allah? but Allah is not unmindful of what ye do! Chpt 2 140
  • Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: “The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance.” Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah. Chpt 2 120
  • (Both) the Jews and the Christians say: “We are sons of Allah, and his beloved.” Say: “Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)” Chpt 5 :18

Are you getting this? Did almighty God need to tell us how to argue with followers of Baal? Or how to convince Hindus? Or how to debate a follower of satan? NOOOOOOO!  He didn’t need to- because He is God.

IF you are considering the Islamic faith, here are the holy scriptures, the very words of Jesus, you are choosing to ignore, you may need to get your sharpie out:

Jesus is the Son of God:  “But what about you?” Jesus said to them. “Who do you say that I am?” – Simon Peter answered, “You? You are Christ, the Son of the living God!” – “Simon, son of Jonah, you are a fortunate man indeed!” said Jesus, “for it was not your own nature but my Heavenly Father who has revealed this truth to you! • Allah says Jesus was not more than a messenger O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Trinity” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. Q171

  • Allah says there is no Son It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, “Be”, and it is.q5 35
  • Allah says there is no son : Say: “If (Allah) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship.”  Glory to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne (of Authority)! (He is free) from the things they attribute (to him)! 83] So leave them to babble and play (with vanities) until they meet that Day of theirs, which they have been promised, surah 43:81-82
  • More quran confusion: The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! Q30

Nobody knows who the Father really is except the Son – and the man to whom the Son chooses to reveal him!”Luke 10:21-22

But Jesus went on to say, “How can they say that Christ is David’s son? For David himself said in the book of psalms – ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.’ David is plainly calling him ‘Lord’. How then can he be his son?” Luke 10:44

Jesus has the power to forgive:  “Cheer up, my son! Your sins are forgiven.”  At once some of the scribes thought to themselves, “This man is blaspheming”. But Jesus realised what they were thinking, and said to them, “Why must you have such evil thoughts in your minds? Do you think it is easier to say to this man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Get up and walk’? But to make it quite plain that the Son of Man has full authority on earth to forgive sins” – and here he spoke to the paralytic – “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” And the man sprang to his feet and went home. When the crowds saw what had happened they were filled with awe and praised God for giving such power to men. Matthew 9:1-2, 3-8

Jesus has been given power and authority –even to disown you before the Father: “Every man who publicly acknowledges me I shall acknowledge in the presence of my Father in Heaven, but the man who disowns me before men I shall disown before my Father in Heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

  • Allah says this is blasphemy:  In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: “Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every – one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things.” [18] (Both) the Jews and the Christians say: “We are sons of Allah, and his beloved.” Say: “Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)” Surah: 5 :17

Jesus is greater than the messenger, He is the one they were waiting for:  John the Baptist was in prison when he heard what Christ was doing, and he sent a message through his own disciples asking the question, “Are you the one who was to come or are we to look for somebody else?” – Jesus gave them this reply, “Go and tell John what you see and her – that blind men are recovering their sight, cripples are walking, lepers being healed, the deaf hearing, the dead being brought to life and the good news is being given to those in need. And happy is the man who never loses faith in me.”- As John’s disciples were going away Jesus began talking to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the desert to look at? A reed waving in the breeze? No? Then what was it you went out to see? – a man dressed in fine clothes? But the men who wear fine clothes live in the courts of kings! But what did you really go to see – a prophet? Yes, I tell you, a prophet and far more than a prophet! This is the man of whom the scripture says – ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you’.11:11 – “Believe me, no one greater than John the Baptist has ever been born of all mankind, and yet a humble member of the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.- “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of Heaven has been taken by storm and eager men are forcing their way into it. For the Law and all the prophets foretold it till the time of John and – if you can believe it – John himself is the ‘Elijah’ who must come before the kingdom. The man who has ears to hear must use them. Matthew 11:4-15

No one knows he Father but the Son, and to those whom the Son chooses to reveal Him:  – At this same time Jesus said, “O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, I thank you for hiding these things from the clever and intelligent and for showing them to mere children. Yes, I thank you, Father, that this was your will.” Then he said: “Everything has been put in my hands by my Father, and nobody knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son – and the man to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.11:28-30 – “Come to me, all of you who are weary and over-burdened, and I will give you rest! Put on my yoke and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Mat 11 25-27

Just as Jonah was dead for 3 days and became alive again, so he was a sign of the Messiah to be resurrected on the 3rd day  Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said, “Master, we want to see a sign from you.” But Jesus told them, “It is an evil and unfaithful generation that craves for a sign, and no sign will be given to it – except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was in the belly of that great sea-monster for three days and nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and nights. The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation in the judgment and will condemn it. For they did repent when Jonah preached to them, and you have more than Jonah’s preaching with you now! The Queen of the South will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it. For she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and you have more than the wisdom of Solomon with you now!  Matt 12 38-42

  • Quran says that Christ was never killed: That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- [171] O People of the Book! To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.chapter 4:157-171

He sits son a glorious throne: At this Peter exclaimed, “Look, we have left everything and followed you. What is that going to be worth to us?” “Believe me,” said Jesus, “when I tell you that in the next world, when the Son of Man shall sit down on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones and become judges of the twelve tribes of Israel. Every man who has left houses or brothers or sisters or fathers or mother or children or land for my sake will receive it all back many times over, and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first now will be last then – and the last first! 19:27-30

He sits on the right hand of the Father:  Then when daylight came, the assembly of the elders of the people, which included both chief priests and scribes, met and marched him off to their own council. There they asked him, “If you really are Christ, tell us!” “If I tell you, you will never believe me, and if I ask you a question, you will not answer me. But from now on the Son of Man will take his seat at the right hand of almighty God.” Then they all said, “So you are the Son of God then?””You are right; I am,” Jesus told them Matthew 22 66-69

Jesus is the resurrection, He is the Only way: “I myself am the resurrection and the life,” Jesus told her. “The man who believes in me will live even though he dies, and anyone who is alive and believes in me will never die at all. Can you believe that?” Matt 11 25-26

Jesus spoke of His upcoming crucifixion and resurrection as foretold by the prophets:  Then, as he was about to go up to Jerusalem, Jesus took the twelve disciples aside and spoke to them as they walked along. “Listen, we are now going up to Jerusalem and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes – and they will condemn him to death. They will hand him over to the heathen to ridicule and flog and crucify. And on the third day he will rise again!” Matt 20 17-19

“We are now going up to Jerusalem,” he said, “as you can see. And the Son of Man will be betrayed into the power of the chief priests and scribes. They are going to condemn him to death and hand him over to pagans who will jeer at him and spit at him and flog him and kill him. But after three days he will rise again.” Mark 10:33-34 –

Then Jesus took the twelve on one side and spoke to them, “Listen to me. We are now going up to Jerusalem and everything that has been written by the prophets about the Son of Man will come true. For he will be handed over to the heathen, and he is going to be jeered at and insulted and spat upon, and then they will flog and kill him. But he will rise again on the third day.”  Luke  18:31-33 –

So too, he gave them a cup after supper with the words, “This cup is the new agreement made in my own blood which is shed for you. Yet the hand of the man who is betraying me lies with mine at this moment on the table. The Son of Man goes on his appointed way: yet alas for the man by whom he is betrayed luke 22:20-22 –

“The kingdom of Heaven,” he said, “is like a king who arranged a wedding for his son. He sent his servants to summon those who had been invited to the festivities, but they refused to come. 22:2-14 –

In the middle of the meal Jesus took a loaf and after blessing it he broke it into pieces and gave it to the disciples. “Take and eat this,” he said, “it is my body.” Then he took a cup and after thanking God, he gave it to them with the words, “Drink this, all of you, for it is my blood, the blood of the new agreement shed to set many free from their sins. I tell you I will drink no more wine until I drink it fresh with you in my Father’s kingdom.” luke 26:26-29 –

He Only speaks truth: “If God were really your Father,” replied Jesus, “you would have loved me. For I came from God, and I am here. I did not come of my own accord – he sent me, and I am here. Why do you not understand my words? It is because you cannot hear what I am really saying. Your father is the devil, and what you are wanting to do is what your father longs to do. He always was a murderer, and has never dealt with the truth, since the truth will have nothing to do with him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks in character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. And it is because I speak the truth that you will not believe me. Which of you can prove me guilty of sin? If I am speaking the truth, why is it that you do not believe me? The man who is born of God can hear these words of God and the reason why you cannot hear the words of God is simply this, that you are not the sons of God.” John 8:42-47 –

He was with God in the beginning of all creation : “Yes,” returned Jesus, “I was watching and saw Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning! It is true that I have given you the power to tread on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the enemy’s power – there is nothing at all that can do you any harm. Yet it is not your power over evil spirits which should give such joy, but the fact that your names are written in Heaven. Luke 10:18-20 – ”

“I tell you in solemn truth,” returned Jesus, “before there was an Abraham, I AM!”  John 8:58

“I am Alpha and Omega”, says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

1:17-20 – When my eyes took in this sight I fell at his feet like a dead man. And then he placed his right hand upon me and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, the living one. I am he who was dead, and now you see me alive for timeless ages! I hold in my hand the keys of death and the grave. Revelation

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome John 1:1-5

Beware of others coming in His name “Be careful that you are not deceived,” he replied. “There will be many coming in my name, saying ‘I am he’ and ‘The time is very near now.’ Never follow men like that. And when you hear about wars and disturbances, don’t be alarmed. These things must indeed happen first, but the end will not come immediately luke 21:8-9 –

Only those who believe in Him are saved:

No one has ever been up to Heaven except the Son of Man who came down from Heaven. Any man who believes in him is not judged at all. It is the one who will not believe who stands already condemned, because he will not believe in the character of God’s only Son. This is the judgment – that light has entered the world and men have preferred darkness to light because their deeds are evil. Anybody who does wrong hates the light and keeps away from it, for fear his deeds may be exposed. But anybody who is living by the truth will come to the light to make it plain that all he has done has been done through God.” John 3:10-12

He came from Heaven to be lifted up above all men  No one has ever been up to Heaven except the Son of Man who came down from Heaven. The Son of Man must be lifted above the heads of men – as Moses lifted up that serpent in the desert – so that any man who believes in him may have eternal life

Jesus, God’s Son, has been given the power to give life to men :19-29 – Jesus said to them, “I assure you that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. What the Son does is always modelled on what the Father does, for the Father loves the Son and shows him everything that he does himself, Yes, and he will show him even greater things than these to fill you with wonder. For just as the Father raises the dead and makes them live, so does the Son give life to any man he chooses

Woe to those who don’t believe! 5:37b-47 – “Now you have never at any time heard what he says or seen what he is like. Nor do you really believe his word in your hearts, for you refuse to believe the man who he has sent. You pore over the scriptures for you imagine that you will find eternal life in them. And all the time they give their testimony to me! But you are not willing to come to me to have real life! Men’s approval or disapproval means nothing to me, but I can tell that you have none of the love of God in your hearts. I have come in the name of my Father and you will not accept me. Yet if another man comes simply in his own name, you will accept him. How on earth can you believe while you are for ever looking for each other’s approval and not for the glory that comes from the one God? There is no need for you to think that I have come to accuse you before the Father. You already have an accuser – Moses, in whom you put all your confidence! For if you really believed Moses, you would be bound to believe me; for is was about me that he wrote. But if you do not believe what he wrote, how can you believe what I say”?

12:44-50 – But later, Jesus cried aloud, “Every man who believes in me, is believing in the one who sent me; and every man who sees me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that no one who believes in me need remain in the dark. Yet, if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him – for I did not come to judge the world but to save it. Every man who rejects me and will not accept my sayings has a judge – at the last day, the very words that I have spoken will be his judge. For I have not spoken on my own authority: the Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and what to speak. And I know that what he commands means eternal life. All that I say I speak only in accordance with what the Father has told me.” John

You don’t believe because your father is satan: 8:42-47 – “If God were really your Father,” replied Jesus, “you would have loved me. The man who is born of God can hear these words of God and the reason why you cannot hear the words of God is simply this, that you are not the sons of God.”

10:25-30 – “I have told you,” replied Jesus, “and you do not believe it. What I have done in my Father’s name is sufficient to prove my claim, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep recognise my voice and I know who they are. They follow me and I give them eternal life. They will never die and no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. And no one can tear anything out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are One.”

Jesus is the only way! 10:6-15 – Jesus gave them this illustration but they did not grasp the point of what he was saying to them. So Jesus said to them once more, “I do assure you that I myself am the door for the sheep. All who have gone before me are like thieves and rogues, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If a man goes in through me, he will be safe and sound; he can come in and out and find his food. The thief comes with the sole intention of stealing and killing and destroying, but I came to bring them life, and far more life than before. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd will give his life for the sake of his sheep. But the hired man, who is not the shepherd, and does not own the sheep, will see the wolf coming, desert the sheep and run away. And the wolf will attack the flock and send them flying. The hired man runs away because he is only a hired man and has no interest in the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know those that are mine and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I am giving my life for the sake of the sheep.

15:1-8 – “I am the real vine, my Father is the vine-dresser. He removes any of my branches which are not bearing fruit and he prunes every branch that does bear fruit to increase its yield. Now, you have already been pruned by my words. You must go on growing in me and I will grow in you. For just as the branch cannot bear any fruit unless it shares the life of the vine, so you can produce nothing unless you go on growing in me. I am the vine itself, you are the branches. It is the man who shares my life and whose life I share who proves fruitful. For the plain fact is that apart from me you can do nothing at all.

14:6-7 – “I myself am the road,” replied Jesus, “and the truth and the life. No one approaches the Father except through me. If you had known who I am, you would have known my Father. From now on, you do know him and you have seen him.”  John 14:4-7

You must ask in Jesus’ Name 14:9-14 – “Have I been such a long time with you,” returned Jesus, “without your really knowing me, Philip? The man who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The very words I say to you are not my own. It is the Father who lives in me who carries out his work through me. Do you believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? But if you cannot, then believe me because of what you see me do. I assure you that the man who believes in me will do the same things that I have done, yes, and he will do even greater things than these, for I am going away to the Father. Whatever you ask the Father in my name, I will do – that the Son may bring glory to the Father. And if you ask me anything in my name, I will grant it.

15:16 – “It is not that you have chosen me; but it is I who have chosen you. I have appointed you to go and bear fruit that will be lasting; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you

22:16 – “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the Churches. I am both the root and stock of David, and the bright star of the morning!”

I tell you I will drink no more wine until I drink it fresh with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Mark 26:26-29

Want Revival? True Revival in the Church

  1. Repent
  2. Pray
  3. Call out to Him with a Humble heart
  4. Call for a Solemn Assembly on your knees pleading for mercy
  5. Sanctify a fast among the people

Last month I heard a great preacher, Richard Owens Roberts, speak on revival.  He described revival as a pebble being thrown into a pond. The rippling effect from that one action continued on and on and that is how it is in revival. The Holy Spirit moves and soon the rippling effect goes out beyond ourselves, beyond our churches reaching out to the unsaved and the lost. It’s going beyond those of us sitting safely in our churches. It reaches the lost, the hurting, the lonely and all God’s people.

I saw revival when I was young and I’ll never forget it. People were on fire for Jesus.  A small bible study of 5 people turned to 10, then 100’s and soon neighborhoods were gathering together studying the word. In my family, it started with one person…soon my aunts, cousins, parents, grandparents, neighbors and friends were soon on fire for Jesus, learning scripture and leading bible study groups. The good news had spread like wildfire. Today my family (cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters)  are Christians, teaching their children and grandchildren God’s ways. It all started with that one revival- now my family, as if it were a rippling effect through the generations, teaches the next generation and on and on this goes, reaching out still to those around us.

In revival, repentance is vital. We need repentance on a personal level, as we each search our hearts, and repentance together as a group or entity. I wonder how many of us really repent as we should? It’s important to ask the Lord to search our heart and see if there is any sin lurking in there that needs to be removed.  There have been many times I thought myself sin-free until I stopped and asked the Lord. He is gentle and kind but it’s never fun to admit you’re wrong.  Unforgiveness , bitterness, anger, and hurting others are sins that can hide from our view if we aren’t looking closely within ourselves.

Three things accompany revival when God is near:

  1. Prayer
  2. Repentance
  3. Humbleness

3 things proceed revival in our churches

  1. Terrible seasons (so be ready and prepared- don’t be shocked at the terrible time you may be going through)
  2. Moral and spiritual decline (sounds like today)
  3. Righteous judgment from God

Gather together and pray: Raise up our churches and don’t let God go! Keep seeking His face and glorifying the Lord. Be so close to God that what troubles Him, should trouble you. Commit yourself to seek Him. See what He sees, feel what He feels.

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace 2 Thessalonians 3 :13-16

There is a measure of sin- and we have reached the overflowing limit

There seems, according to history and scripture, to be a measure of sin. God has allotted to every person and entity a measure of sin. When the measure of sin is full, the wrath of God is upon that entity to the full. God has left some churches and it is too late to repent – TOO LATE, they never listened.

Is there hope for America? Is our measure of sin about to bring God’s wrath on us?

There is still time for America, but our measure is almost full…but… by God’s grace we still have some time. We must face the sin in every one of us and in every entity, we must repent before it is too late.

Now is the time to call for a Solemn assembly and fast

Joel 1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,

Joel 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly

Zephaniah 3:18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden

“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
I will show wonders in the heavens
    and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
 And everyone who calls
    on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
    there will be deliverance,
    as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
whom the Lord calls (Joel 2)

We must:

1-     Cry out to the Lord, for the day of the Lord is near

2-     Return to God with all your heart with fasting, crying out to Him. Turn back to Him for He is compassionate and abounds in loving-kindness

3-     Proclaim a Solemn Assembly on your knees pleading for mercy

4-     Seek God and revival

If we want revival, we must take extraordinary action It can all start with you. Come before Him with fasting, weeping, prayer, repentance and humbleness.

“How will the people of the world know we are your people if you, O Lord, are not with us?” Ex 33:15

Refined in the fire

ISAIAH 48:10-11 I have refined you, but not as silver is refined.
Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.
11 I will rescue you for my sake—
    yes, for my own sake!
I will not let my reputation be tarnished,
and I will not share my glory with idols!

The bride are those who are willing to suffer for Christ, suffer for Christ’s kingdom.  God’s people must suffer hardships to enter into the kingdom of God (Acts 14:22) Persecution, suffering and hardships make us worthy of His kingdom. Remember that God will provide rest for you, just as he gave rest to Elijah.

Psalm 71:21 You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again.

Psalm 119:107-112 I have suffered much, O Lord;  restore my life again as you promised. Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.
My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
Your laws are my treasure;they are my heart’s delight. I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end.

Isaiah 26: 16-19 Lord, in distress we searched for you.
We prayed beneath the burden of your discipline.
17 Just as a pregnant woman
writhes and cries out in pain as she gives birth,
so were we in your presence, Lord.
18 We, too, writhe in agony,
but nothing comes of our suffering.
We have not given salvation to the earth,
nor brought life into the world.
19 But those who die in the Lord will live;
    their bodies will rise again!
Those who sleep in the earth
will rise up and sing for joy!
For your life-giving light will fall like dew
on your people in the place of the dead!

Scripture to study and read: the Book of Joel, Psalm 58

Song of Solomon; Song of Songs tells the bible story- Genesis to Revelation

Last year I studied the Song of Songs/Song of Solomon, the Lord taught me that this book was written for us to understand His love for us. You see, His love is indescribable and it’s unmeasurable, how could anyone possibly understand it? We see this great love between a king and his bride written in the Song of Solomon, we can understand this great love between a man and a woman. God wants us to know that His love for you is even greater than this love we read about. He says “Beloved, your eyes are like doves”.  He loves you, he created you and He wants you to know this and understand how much He loves you.
As I was studying different theories and viewpoints, I remember reading that some ancient rabbis believe this book tells of the story of Israel, perhaps the whole bible written in these 8 chapters. I decided to sit down and see if I could find any similarities and I found something! Now, I don’t know if I’m right or wrong, maybe it’s a start to something more, but check out my discoveries I have found a story line from Jacob to Egypt to Ruth to David, to captivity to the prophets, to John, to Jesus, to the gospel and ending with the same words we read in revelation : “ Even so, come, Lord”

I see it written out as a love story between the Lord God and His people Israel; His love for them- their story through history and their return to Him in the last days. And Yes, it’s lengthy. All 8 chapters are here- but I’ve underlined my conclusions to each verse so hopefully that will make it easier to read through 🙂

chapter 1: God’s intimate love with Israel in Genesis up to the time of Kings

The song of songs, which is Solomon’s.Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.  (The love between the Lord and Israel begins, oil and ointments first mentioned in Genesis with Jacob, there was a time (vs 4) where they walked closely together. Some speculate this may be when the commandments were given)

Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept. ( Israel becomes a slave in Egypt, slaves to their brothers; they took care of the Egyptians, but were not able to take care of their own land- why? She says her face is dark because her brothers and sisters made her work for them- and she was unable to take care of her own people)

Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? (the Lord leads the flock from Egypt and brings them to rest, why should I leave you, O Israel? Moses, Joshua, Judges)

If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents. (Ruth 3:4  And it shall be, when he (Boaz) lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do,chapter 4:13-15 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son.  And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him,,,vs21 and Boaz begat Obed,  And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David”

9-11 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s chariots.  Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold. We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver ( She arose in Majesty and beauty as on the way to a certain place with gold- symbolizing Kingship- the beginning of Kings with Samuel and Hannah)

12 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof. (The Story of Kings beginning with King Saul and King David– spikenard, fragrance, sacrifice- and the king sits at his table)

13 A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts. (Sweet fragrance of intimacy with their Lord God- a new closeness with the Lord begins with Samuel and King David)

14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.(camphire is a ransom, a cover, or a dye. It speaks, prophecy of their ransom)

15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.(The relationship between Israel and the Lord as the nation grows)

16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.( Israel’s dedication of love to the Lord as they continue to grow and be mighty among the nations)

17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir. (The house of Israel began as a a strong fortress in the Lord, fully protected and supported by Him on everyside)

chapter 2: the time of Kings and Prophets to the prophecy of Immanuel

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. (His (Jesus) proclamation by the prophets)

As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.(His announcement of His love to His people among all the nations of the earth)

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. (Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.- the mention of the banqueting house reminds me of the wedding of the lamb. –Solomon mentions apples 4 times in this book)

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.(Proclamation of the King of Kings coming)

My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.(There is anticipation for His arrival)

10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. (He calls his people back, but are they listening?)

11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; (The time has past, and a new time is here- be ready)

12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; (a new time is coming, Passover is celebrated – Hezekiah/Nehemiah/Ezra- rebuilding)

13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. (Intimacy between the people and the clefts of rocks and secret places may symbolizes the Holy of Holies and their intimacy with the Lord in His Holy Place)

15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. (other nations have tried to come in and capture us, the fortresses are torn down- Babylon captivity)

16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.( Come back! Come back, she cries…has He left? Has she been abandoned? She is alone and waiting for Him to come back or waiting for His arrival- this could be the time of their captivity)

Chapter 3; Israel searches for Him, but cannot find Him to the Angels proclamation)

By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. (“you seek me but do not find me”; “you honor me with your lips, but turn your back to me”- Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos, Micah speak out)

I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. (You search for the Lord on the “broad paths” but you do not walk along the narrow path to find Me. You search, but still do not find me)

The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth? (The watchmen may symbolize the religious system in the Temple who over see the land and people- who later beat her for her continued search of her love Ezekiel 44:8  And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves)

4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother‘s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. ( King Jesus is about to arrive on scene – to be born into the family of David – behold, a virgin shall conceive a child, who has ever heard of such a thing?)

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant? (John the Baptist in the Wilderness preparing the way for the king and the 3 Kings who had been waiting for this day who came with myrrh and frankincense- for He comes like a pillar of Smoke – Our Lord and our God- and others say this may be Israels journey to canaan- or maybe both!! Or maybe even add Israel becoming a nation in 1948)

Behold his bed, which is Solomon’s; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.( The 3 Kings prepare for their journey to see the King of Kings fortold in scripture)

They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night. (Wicked King Herod hears of the news and sends orders to slaughter every male child, screams and cries of anguish are heard throughout the land, for the sword has slain them)

King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon. ( They escape to Egypt – like a chariot of Pharaoh- the King Jesus is hidden and safe)

10 He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem. (The daughters of Jerusalem have fallen in love with the new King, gold and purple symbolizing majesty and kingship- as written also in chapter 1)

11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart. ( GO! Find Him! For the King is here- The shepherds see the angels and the songs of praise and peace (and gladness) fill the heavens)

Chapter 4; Remission of sins, proclamation of love, but she is beaten and rebuked for loving Him and searching for Him – prophetic words and awaiting His arrival and promises

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. (His proclamation of Love to His wife, Israel)

Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. (This is written 2x, she keeps seeking and again begins to wait again for the king- but He has already come, she is anxious for his arrival and worried the day will end, she must find Him, even if she has to run away)

7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.(He came for the Remission of sins, our Salvation, He cleansed His people, all those who believe in Him)

Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards. ( Jesus is tempted in the desert)

Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. (His proclamation of love to His people)

12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. (This reminds me of the Holy spirit – we are sealed and protected by the Holy Spirit)

13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. (Description of Jesus- a well of living water)

16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. ( As the scent travels with the north and south wind, so does the good news- yet she keeps calling and waiting for His arrival)

Song of Songs 5; Behold, He comes

I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. ( I am coming my love, the Lord is about to arrive)

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. ( Jesus is knocking on the door and she is ready, but she does not answer, the laws of man have held her back)

I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? ( I have made excuses and she hears the Lord, but she doesn’t listen; this also reminds me of the parable of the 10 virgins. She is waiting , but she isn’t prepared or won’t answer the door even though her love has arrived. He was there, but she really didn’t care)

4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.( She knew He was there, but something held her back- was it the religious system of that day? That convinced her not to open? )

I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.( She finally decides to open the door, but He is no longer there)

I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.( He was at the door knocking, but she didn’t answer- He is the door, behold, he stands at the door and knocks….)

The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.(The religious men beat His beloved for searching Him out, she was stopped in her search for Him)

I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.

What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?

10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. (Jesus is chief among 10,000- a King and a ruler)

11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.(reminds me of a description of the Lord in the book of Ezekiel)

12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem (He is altogether lovely – Jesus taught us we are his friends)

Chapter 6: His death; our salvation, Isreal still searches for Him, a call for Him to return

Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee. (Where has He gone that they can seek Him? She sought Him, but she was beaten for looking for him. He knocked on her door, but she didn’t answer, when she finally decided to get up and search for him after he left, she was beaten by the gatekeepers)

My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. ( He has left to His own garden and His own flock, there is still love between the two, even though there is a separation)

I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners. Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead. Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them.

As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks. There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. ( The Kings still loves her and she belongs to Him, he has made her beautiful, without spot and undefiled- chosen, the nations see)

10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? (Who is as the morning and as terrible as an army with banners? Is this Lucifer? Son of the morning coming against God’s people?)

11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished and the pomegranates budded. 12 Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib. (She continues to search, but something is in the way)

13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies. ( The king calls his beloved bride, Israel back- come back, come back!  He loves her and He will not give up on her- though there is division- for she loves and searches for him, but the gatekeepers have held her back and when she did have an opportunity to be with him, she didn’t open the door)

Chapter 7: After the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Gospel is proclaimed and the Lord continues to reach out to His beloved people, and walk among His chosen

How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. ( The feet of the messenger on the mountain proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the World)

Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights! This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak. (The entire body of Christ, each part working together as one, bride of Christ)

10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me. ( The bride and the bridegroom)

11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. ( Let us walk together)

12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. 13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.( They walk together, and ,through the vine , the Lord Jesus they (His people) flourish by the Holy Spirit producing fruit- and are a pleasing aroma unto the Lord)

chapter 8: He is coming again, but He is not yet ready, He will fight for Israel, He will protect her, A call, as proclaimed as in Revelation : “Come Quickly! Hurry, come quickly!”

O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.

I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.

His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please. ( He is not yet ready to return yet)

Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. (She is restored and again with her love- Zechariah 12-14- He will save His people)

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.(Seal of the Holy Spirit- or the mark in revelation- set upon His love for protection from death and the grave)

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?

If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour. (Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?)

11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.

12 My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: thou, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.

13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it.

14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices. (Behold, with haste, He comes quickly)

  1. Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
  2. Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
  3. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
  4. Revelation 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
  5. Revelation 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
  6. Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
  7. Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord

Job was an oil tycoon and other odd thoughts……

I haven’t had much time to write like I normally do, …so I’ll share my thoughts and show you the things that run through my mind as I’ve read this week..….

1-     Job was an oil tycoon? Well, he had oil, what was he doing with petroleum? Crude oil? Just wondering….Job 29:6

2-     OIL- just thinking about oil again, did you notice that oil comes from 2 different places 1) the brance (Jesus) and 2) the rock (Jesus again!!) isn’t that cool?

3-     Condensation- okay- how did they know about condensation? Job 36:27 and David knew the earth was round – so what happened to knowledge that it disappeared and suddenly we find it again and think we are so advanced. Duh.

4-     Jesus and Job: Consider the words in Job 29-30 that sound similar to descriptions of  Jesus and NT: robe, righteousness, branch, chief, justice, mock, pierced, ransom, as a thief, mediator

5-     Job, Joseph, David, Moses, and Jesus have a lot in common. All suffered greatly before they were placed in power and blessings. Job was accused of wickedness (34:36-37) David was accused of being prideful (by his brother) Moses was rejected and accused (but God put them in their place) Joseph lived his entire childhood being hated by his brothers, and then Jesus- were all these lives symbolic of the Savior to come?

6-     “He hears the baby ravens cry out for food.” That truly amazes me. Job 38;41

7-     Job had to forgive his three friends, but the 4thElihu– he didn’t? Elihu was the only one not reprimanded for his words to Job. He was the youngest and he waited for the 3 friends of Job to speak first. I’m sure the entire situation scared him enough to learn the lesson, but still…something to think about. Elihu was a descendant from Nahor, Abraham’s brother, and I guess Sarah too if you think about it.

8-     Elihu was a know it all, he was starting to get on my nerves too. Poor Job.

9-     Ezekiel studied the book of Job- and James in the New testament discusses it too. Ex 14:20, James 5:11

10- What exactly is the shadow of death? When I stopped to really ponder that it scared me! Like the black eyed….. I can’t even go there, but really, what is it? A a shadow? What? Psalm 23, Job 38;17

11- “3″ Every man is given three chances????? What in the world does this mean—“Behold, God works all these things, Twice, in fact, three times with a man, To bring back his soul from the Pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of life.” KJV says it differently but the original Hebrew word says three- the verse tells us that God is often trying to gather us and save us from the pit but does He make sure we all get three chances? Job 33:29-30

12- Don’t dis the preachers. In 1 Corinthians 3 it talks about how the word of God is planted in our hearts; one person plants the seed, one waters it and God makes it grow. Now there are some preacher/teachers that many people are against- with cause I’m sure, however I see that some of them prepare the soil- think about it.

13- I keep running into the story of Jonah everywhere I turn, but I know I’m not qualified to go to Nineveh, so I’m okay with that. Also, I keep running into place of rest- so that may be my next long post if I can sit for more that 5 minutes without being interrupted.

14- Walk properly!! Walk properly, Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, Make no provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust, Pursue things that bring peace- I have a lot to work on! Romans 13:8-14:19 What do you need to work on? Are you walking properly?

15- 1 Corinthians 3- Works in the fire – how exactly is this going to happen? I was watching Jungle Gold the other day and they took beautiful gold and had to put it through the fire to get out all the impurities. It reminded me that we may look and act all righteous but we each have impurities– Jesus has washed our sins away- yet we still must check ourselves, our heart and repent as soon as we see our sins.

16-   “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire” 1 Cor 3:9-15  So some go in crispy burnt and others are the finest gold hmmmm

jobMy version of what Job looked like- whatever, that’s what popped in my mind as I was reading and dissecting. You know I love Indians – or native americans-(I heard we can’ t say indian anymore- but I didn’t get that memo) and after reading Ezekiel I think native americans may be one of the lost tribes- but this is all irrelevant, isn’t it! I’ve had 25 interruptions, my computer shut down 9 times during this post, wordpress isnt working, my dog drank my coffee and I’m surrounded by kids…got to go, peace be with you and remember; the God of peace will soon Crush satan under your feet! Romans 16
