Is Yoga for Christians? Yoga in Church

I love to workout, I love the gym, and now in quarantine, enjoy a good dose of youtube workouts ranging from dance, kick boxing, taebo, weights, cardio- you name it – it keeps me going. (Yes, I blog and despite the world’s perception of us, I’m not a big blob of fat and epidermis sitting here with unbrushed hair and last night’s food crusted on my face as I sit here typing, studying, reading and researching)

Let me tell you about my experience with yoga…. I LOVED YOGA, yes, loved it. Wow, I felt really good after each class. A serious Yogi instructor from India was our teacher. I did all the poses super good.( So proud of myself)  I came out of each class feeling strong , super stress free and great..However, during the entire class, my conscience would be arguing with me (Or was it God’s Spirit?) that I needed to stop doing yoga. In each class, I had this ongoing inner debate going on about why I was okay to do Yoga.  I would pray to God in the poses, and had no idea what the chants meant, but I would talk to God and pray while I did it, thinking, yeah I’m cool. However, my inner arguments during this awesome class were now with God. I said, come on Lord, you know I only worship you. The inner disturbance was too intense for me, so I switched yoga classes from the Yogi to a regular workout teacher with less chanting noises and so on. I mean, it’s just a workout class…..

The inner argument still came back! I was getting annoyed. I went home and did a little research. I did not like what I saw. One site after another warned about yoga for Christians. I told myself they were all crazy! I didn’t want to believe it. Yet the intensity of my inner debate with God was ruining my special time in yoga. So finally I prayed about it and my prayer went something like this: ” Dear Lord,  I really like yoga, but if it’s something you don’t want me doing, I won’t do it. My relationship with you is much more important to me. I don’t know how you’re going to tell me this, I don’t know if you’re going to come down and tell me or what, but you need to let me know and I’ll stop” Prayer ends.

A week or two goes by and forgetting my prayer, I go to yoga class. I walk in, I roll my mat on the floor, take off my shoes – while I’m still standing…… and suddenly my entire body freezes – like I’m paralyzed. I couldn’t bend down to get on the mat. I couldn’t bend down to get my shoes. I was stuck in a board like position staring in the mirror, looking at all the people around me setting up their spaces for yoga class. They had no idea that my body had just turned into a stone like statue unable to move. Do I scream? I was shocked and terrified.  I immediately remember my prayer and I’m also really really scared that I’m frozen. It felt like my legs and entire torso and arms were unmovable.  I realize I can move my lower leg a little bit so I pick up my mat and shoes with my toes and walk out. As soon as I’m out of the door, I’m completely normal again. Say what you want, but that was my message, never never never going back, not going to mess with God about that, no way.

Let’s get to the facts:

Yoga means united and yoked, there’s just no way getting around the reality of that, and who do you think you’re yoking with? All the poses are worship stances to gods – yes, you already knew that but won’t admit it’s wrong. I know, I was there.   This is very much like the idea of bringing the Hindu Color Run into churches (Christian view of the Color Run)  Hosea 7:8 comes to mind now, God tells Ephraim – you have mixed yourself among the people, you are a cake unturned, worthless as a half baked cake.

I linked websites below for you to check out yourself. In the article from crosswalk.com, you will find a few of the poses and names. For instance, one popular pose done in warm ups and cool downs is called the sun salutation. They are poses designed to greet the Hindu sun god. (Dt 17:”1-7 If there is found among you any man or woman who has been wicked in the sight of the Lord your God in transgressing His covenant AND WHO HAS GONE AND SERVED OTHER GODS AND WORSHIPED  THEM, EITHER THE  SUN OR MOON  OR ANY OF THE HOST OF HEAVEN…..)If you are into yoga or an instructor, you may be very mad right now, but understand there are many other things you can do besides yoga. If you’re an instructor, you are not only harming yourself, but everyone in your class. You have a responsibility to stop. I believe yoga can bring on demonic oppression and well as possession.

I know a lot of readers won’t like this and have all kinds of arguments to speak back, but remember for a minute how satan works. He uses some truth and twists it, he is the master deceiver. There’s a lot more behind the ways of yoga, meditation and new age today that seem so innocent.  Meditation is in the bible – we are told to meditate on the Word of God – if you really want to find healing and peace – Meditate on Scripture – It’s life changing! Yoga is directly linked to Shiva and the Kundalini spirit, “serpent energy”.

Does it glorify God? Are you glorifying your Maker and Creator as you stretch in poses that are originally meant to worship demonic deities? I really just wanted to share my story with you. Please take the time to do more research (and links I’ve attached) and not take it on your understanding to make it right, let it be God’s way that leads you- not your way.

As a follower of Christ, you are called to be Holy as He is Holy.  Placing yourself in a Hindu ritual of poses that are intended to worship gods, is not a place for a Christ follower who strives for a relationship and holy walk with the Lord.

Yet, I know some don’t agree, but don’t worry, you’ll come around because I’ve already prayed for you!

 Consider these Verses

Take care that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods. Deuteronomy 12:30-31

Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned– as worthless as a half baked cake.Hosea 7:8

For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, Because they are filled with eastern ways; Isaiah 2: 6

You have put pagan symbols on your doorposts and behind your doors. You have left me and climbed into bed with these detestable gods. You have committed yourselves to them You love to look at their naked bodies. Isaiah 57:8. (none of the deities of Hindu are wearing clothes)

But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. 2 Cor 11:3

Do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations worship their gods? I want to follow their example.’  You must not worship the Lord your God the way the other nations worship their gods,

Do not follow the abominations of other nations Dt 18:9

I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you Romans 12:1-2

So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. Hebrews 13:9

Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge 1 Tim 6:20

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple 1 Cor 3:16 ( Do you think it’s okay to continue to do poses to demons, follow teachings from demons with the Holy Spirit of God in you? Amos 3:3-Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? and 2 Cor 6:14-16  How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?  And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols?)

the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.1 Tim 4:1 (Yoga is a teaching given to them from deities – demons)

If you’re not really sure, ask God , pray about it. He will answer you.

Short story I want to share on answered prayer- years ago I was volunteering in my children’s school with the book fair. The book fair had just opened up and class by class was beginning to come in to buy books (K-8th). The first class comes in and immediately heads for the witchcraft, spells, demonic and death books. I kept trying to lead them to something more intelligent or more captivating, but they all gathered around this one section. My heart was so sad for these kids. The next class come in, they did the same thing. I did not know what to do. When that class left and while waiting for the next class to come in, I paced the area the kids were drawn to and I prayed over the area, I prayed non stop asking the Lord to protect them from these books and not let one child come this way to purchase these books on spells, witchcraft, horror , demons, etc. I’m praying, praying….The next class – same age, same grade- comes in NOT ONE CHILD CAME INTO THIS SECTION -and they were the most popular books at that time. I stayed for the rest of the day and continued to pray and it was amazing. It was as if God had stationed 2 angels there and throughout the time I was there, not one child was even remotely interested in looking at books in that area. It’s true! Say a Prayer, He hears, He answers. He is a God of the impossible.

The serpent asked the woman; “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” Gen 3:1

Warning: Kids summoning demons in newest game

I received two emails yesterday on a new game children are playing ( and just found out kids are playing this game in my child’s class- as young as 8)  It’s similar to using the oujia board and from reports, the children are becoming possessed.  The game only needs a sheet of paper and 2 pencils, they call on a spirit to move the pencils to answer the question. Here’s the newest fad and information, please pass on the warning to others. I listed 3 sources below, please take the time to review link – unfortunately we must warn even the youngest ones from these dangers.  ( I would be careful when watching the videos)

The name has been searched on Google more than any other event. Teens have even been posting videos of them doing the “Charlie, Charlie Challenge.”The game has been around for a long time in Latin America, although it is just now recently gaining popularity here through social media.

A new occultic social media trend has gone viral, challenging kids to attempt to summon a demon. The homemade game is similar to using a Oujia board, and it’s called the “Charlie Charlie Challenge.”It involves putting two pencils on a piece of paper in the shape of a cross, and writing the words “yes” and “no” in the boxes outlined by the pencils. The participants then summon what they say is a Mexican demon called Charlie, attempting to ask him questions for guidance for their lives.**CB

Spanish exorcist Jose Antonio Fortea told ACI Prensa that the so-called #CharlieCharlieChallenge involves the very real, occult practice of “calling on spirits.”In an interview May 27, he warned that “some spirits who are at the root of that practice will harass some of those who play the game.” Even though the priest thinks that players “won’t be possessed” necessarily, the spirit that has been invoked “will stay around for a while.”Fr. Fortea also warned that playing the game “will result in other spirits beginning to enter into even more frequent communication.”“And so then the person really can suffer much worse consequences from the demons,” he said.Catholic experts have noted that occult activity and the resulting need for exorcisms has reached a critical level worldwide. The International Association of Exorcists (AIE) met for their 12th annual conference in Rome last October. According to AIE spokesperson Dr. Valter Cascioli, an increasing number of bishops and cardinals asked to participate in the conference due to an increase in demonic activity.

  1. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead.  Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. DT 18:10
  2. The nations you are about to displace consult sorcerers and fortune-tellers, but the Lordyour God forbids you to do such things.Deuteronomy 18:14
  3.   When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,  idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galations 5:19-20
  4.  Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices.  A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. Acts 19:19
  5. Household gods give worthless advice,fortune-tellers predict only lies, and interpreters of dreams pronounce falsehoods that give no comfort. So my people are wandering like lost sheep; they are attacked because they have no shepherd.Zechariah 10:2
  6. I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers Micah 5:12

Christian view of the Color Run (Holi festival): Putting the brakes on Pagan Christianity -stop bringing the World into our churches

Do not worship the Lord your God in the way the pagan people worship their gods”
Deuteronomy 12:4

Take care that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.
Deuteronomy 12:30-31

The newest fad in our churches, Christian organizations and youth groups is the Color Run. The Color Run is an ancient Hindu and Hare Krishna festival also called the Holi festival.  Holi was the name of the Hindu demon king’s sister. This festival dates back to over 2000 years ago. It wasn’t suddenly invented two years ago as some websites claim. It’s been going on for thousands of years at the beginning of spring. When I first heard about this 5k color run, it sounded super fun…however something didn’t feel right about it and I wasn’t comfortable with my children participating in it. When I found out the origins, I was still unsure. However that same day, I sat down to read my bible and this verse practically jumped off the pages:

“Do not worship the Lord your God in the way the pagan people worship their gods” Deuteronomy 12:4

Let me clear some things up first. I’m not judging anyone who is participating; I only hope that those who are feeling indecisive about this, would find their answer. I pray that the shepherds would be more aware of the paths along which they are leading their sheep  and that those called out to be gatekeepers and watchmen would stand guard and protect the flock.

Color run origins:

The Holi (aka Color run) Hindu festival is celebrated at the beginning of spring each year. The name Holi (which means burning) originated from the name Holika, the demon king’s evil sister.  She, Holika, helped her brother reign by killing his son/ her nephew. Legend says that the son of the demon refused to worship him and instead worshiped Vishnu. So Holika ended this by putting the boy on her lap and sitting in a fire so he would die. She thought she would be untouched because her super power was that fire could not burn her- but her plan backfired and she sizzled to death.
In India, they throw colored powders in the air over the people as a symbolic remembrance of this demon sister Holika (Holi) and the beginning of spring.  On this day many others worship Kaamadeva, the love god. There are a few other variations and myths (and some have changed over the years): to some it was a time when the moon god was worshipped- here’s another one – Krishna wasn’t happy with his skin color so his mother told him to color his lovers skin so her complexion would change and from there, they started the color festival. Don’t ask me to explain that one, but if you want to find out more, see the links below.

Why are we turning to pagan religions, worldly traditions, new age ideas and witchcraft to find new ways to play church?

Last year, the fad was the Harlem shake. I embarrassingly watched my children’s youth group’s you tubes as they gyrated in their underwear wearing large animal head pieces. I cringed! Then I saw pastors and churches joining in. The year before this it was the Circle maker. Why are we going to pagan religions, worldly traditions, new age and witchcraft to find new ways to play church?

I wonder how many pagan practices we unknowingly have within our churches, traditions and holidays. It’s our job to stop it when it begins to sneak into our churches.  What are we teaching the next generation by doing this? The Color run sounds like a lot of fun, no doubt about that- but I ask you, as Christians and Church members- When are we finally going to put the brakes on bringing the world and pagan practices into our churches?

Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turnedas worthless as a half baked cake.
Hosea 7:8

For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with eastern ways; Isaiah 2: 6

Reading through Hindu sites I found mixed emotions on how they feel about us celebrating their tradition. Some are deeply offended and some are happy they can share their Hindu and Hare Krishna religion with us- yes, they see it as an open door to share their faith.

Do Something New!

God wants us to be NEW. A new Creations. He gave each one of us an amazing mind- surely we can come up with our own new ways of worship and fellowship. I am sure we can think up new creative ways of fellowship without copying pagan religions. We are not to be conformed to this world, but TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our mind.

I just thought of something!!!!!! Joshua at Jericho and Gehazi with the Shumanite were both supposed to run/walk without a word spoken, okay maybe it’s boring – but think of how much we’d have to say when we reached the end. And how about Elijah’s supernatural run when he outran the chariots, there was a terrible storm coming. So I’m thinking everyone has to run like the wind and anyone who is slow gets soaked. Lol– but you see, you can get creative, amen?

He asks us to sing Him NEW songs. He specifically tells us in Deuteronomy 12:29-32

“When the Lord your God goes ahead of you and destroys the nations and you drive them out and live in their land,  do not fall into the trap of following their customs and worshiping their gods. Do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations worship their gods? I want to follow their example.’  You must not worship the Lord your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods.“So be careful to obey all the commands I give you. You must not add anything to them or subtract anything from them.

Hear the Word of the Lord:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.Romans 12:1-3

“On that day of judgment,” says the Lord, “I will punish the leaders and princes of Judah and all those following pagan customs.Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit Zephaniah 1:8-9

You have put pagan symbols on your doorposts and behind your doors. You have left me and climbed into bed with these detestable gods. You have committed yourselves to them. You love to look at their naked bodies Isaiah 57:8.

This disaster came upon the people of Israel because they worshiped other gods. They sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them safely out of Egypt and had rescued them from the power of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. They had followed the practices of the pagan nations the Lord had driven from the land ahead of them, as well as the practices the kings of Israel had introduced. 2 kings 17

Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother was Hephzibah. He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites. 2 Kings 21 (NLT)21

This festival is also called ‘run or dye’ – yes, churches are using that slogan.  I have no comment for that- just a sigh……

Money, Money, and More Money

One more thing that weighs heavily on my heart- the pull of money, money and more money – isn’t that what this is all about?  Are we feeding the hungry?  are we visiting the sick? are we visiting those in prison? are we clothing the naked? are we helping the widow? are we going after the lost? are we guiding the those who have backslidden? Where have our priorities gone? What example are we setting for the next generation? How much of our thoughts- and our church leadership’s time and energy is put towards  business/money and how much is put toward walking with God? It’s time for a heart check- where are my priorities? Am I really trusting in the Lord? How can I get to that place where I can walk with the Lord as Enoch did?  Would I be on the left or the right in that last day parable described in Matthew 25:34-

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me.  I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.  I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters you were doing it to me!’

“Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world

You don’t realize that I am watching you. I am watching all of you. Your sinful deeds are all around you, and I, the Lord, see them all. You entertain each other with wickedness and lies and many of you are aflame with lust. Yet, as I watch and listen, not one of you cries out to me. You continue to mingle with godless foreigners and you made yourself as worthless as a half baked cake. Are you for me or do you long for the things of this world? Have they filled your heart so much that you no longer desire me? Haven’t you read the warnings? My people have become lukewarm.
Do you cowardly cringe when you say the name of my Son Jesus? If you deny Him, He will surely deny you before ME. What sorrow awaits those who desert ME. For I sent My only Beloved Son FOR YOU, Yet you consider it as nothing. My fury is about to be poured out like boiling water from an overturned pot. How much longer shall I call out to you?
My heart weeps for you. If you would only open your eyes and see how much I LOVE YOU. You seek me, but you don’t find me. You have looked everywhere but you your sins have weighed you down, you carry them around as ropes tied to you. When will you confess?- for I am an all forgiving God- and Savior. But you don’t admit your wrongs. Have you not heard that there is no sacrifice that will cover your deliberate continual sinning? You don’t cry out to me with sincere hearts.

  • Lust causes corruption in this world 1 Peter 4
  • Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. James 1:15

  • Those who chose do deny God are given up to their lusts God gave them up to their vile passions because they did not worship the creator and women exchanged their natural use Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Romans 1
  • Lust can take over and control your life Romans 6:12
  • Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin, but instead give yourself completely to God. Don’t let sin be your master. Romans 6;12-15

Hear the Word of the Lord:

  1. Ecclesiastes 6:9 The sight of the eye is better than to walk in the lusts: this also is vanity, and vexation of spirit. .-Enjoy what you have and don’t desire what you don’t have, that is like chasing the wind.
  2. Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. So if your eye, even your good eye, causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it wayay. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell
  3. Mark 4:19 But the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things enter in, and choke the word, and it is unfruitful.
  4. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he hath been a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, then speaketh he of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.
  5. Romans 1:18-32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,  because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,  because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,  and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,  who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;  being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,  backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;  who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
  6. Galatians 5:16-26 let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.  The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.  But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
  7. Romans 6:12 Let not sin reign therefore in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof:
  8. 1 Timothy 6:9  But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows
  9. 2 Timothy 2:22 Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts Flee also from the lusts of youth, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart,
  10. 2 Timothy 4:3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths for the time will come when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but having their ears itching, shall after their own lusts
  11. Titus 2:12  And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,And teacheth us, that we should deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and that we should live soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world,
  12.  Titus 3:3 Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other.  But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love,  he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone. For we ourselves also were in times past unwise, disobedient, deceived, serving the lusts and divers pleasures, living in maliciousness and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
  13. James 1:15 13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.  Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.  These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
  14.  James 4:2 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the spirit God has placed within us is filled with envy? But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say,“God opposes the proud but favors the humble.”So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
  15. 1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world Dearly beloved, I beseech you, as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which fight against the soul,
  16. 1 Peter 4:3 For it is sufficient for us that we have spent the time past of the life, after the lust of the Gentiles walking in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, in gluttony, drinkings, and in abominable idolatries. Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.  But remember that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit
  17.  They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse.  They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong.  But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. 2 Peter 2:15-20
  18.   Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.1 John 2:15-17
  19.   These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. Jude 1:16-18

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is, time is running out.
Wake up!

|For our salvation is nearer now then when we first believed. The night is almost gone, the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealously. Instead clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ and don’t’ let yourself think about ways to indulge in evil desires. Romans 13;11-14
